All the books I read in February and what I thought of them
The second to last time I went back to school after a break was in September and I forgot how to read; this last time, it is not so much that I forgot how to read and more that I forgot how to do my homework, so I kept procrastinating and then not having any time to read. I also finished Elena Ferrante's series, and am I really going to stay up until 3 reading a book by someone else? Elena Ferrante is the only author for me. That's empirically false.
I only read three books this month so I also have my receiptify at the end so it will be a more interesting blog post.

Men in the Sun and Other Palestinian Stories by Ghassan Kanafani
rating: ⭐⭐⭐
I don't like short stories. The one about the horse was kind of neat. A fun fact about the author is that Israel and Lebanon assassinated him in revenge for the Lod Airport Massacre and then that time a Palestinian militant organization took the Israeli athletes hostage at the 1972 Olympics and killed them, that was revenge for Kanafani's assassination. He was an interesting guy.

The Story of the Lost Child by Elena Ferrante
rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book wrapped up the series very nicely, but it was also weirdly transphobic for no reason. But I love Lila and Lenù, and for the most part I love the series as well. It is like a whole little world that you get wrapped up in. Elena Ferrante is such a good author.

Ports of Call by Amin Maalouf (reread)
rating: ⭐⭐⭐
I read this book again to write a review about it for an assignment and I was underwhelmed, so I exaggerated some criticisms so I would have a longer book review. There are too many themes and I was confused and I didn't get how they all tied together so I pretended it was the book's fault. What is my professor going to do, tell me my opinions are wrong?
